Appointment

26th October 2018 – CoachHire.com have appointed Richard Woods, previously of Arriva and Stagecoach, to promote ongoing success in their Operations Department following investment from Stagecoach Founder and Chair, Sir Brian Souter. Martin Andrew, previously holding the position, will take on the new role of Sourcing and Supply Chain Director, working with Woods to strengthen the company’s ties with their growing supplier-base and assist in the transition.

Woods joined the company in a consultancy role on 4th June but has decided to make his stay more permanent, citing the company’s ambition and passion as determining his decision; “I quickly came to see the potential Sir Brian had identified in this company to make real, beneficial changes to the industry. Their goals are ambitious, and they share my desire for delivering high-quality transport in the coach and bus industry.”

Woods sees delivering this success as his next big challenge after a hugely influential period as CEO of City Group where he oversaw the introduction of new management, fuelling and ticketing systems; developing and diversifying the business to grow their route revenues to a turnover of over £1 million.

CoachHire.com Founder and CEO, Mathew Hassell, on the appointment; “Richard’s experience in the industry will play a key factor in connecting us with great suppliers throughout the country and achieving mutual success. He’s a perfect fit for us: his ambition and drive typify our values and his ability to get the job done makes me confident in him to help us reach our targets in 2019. Whilst we’ve grown hugely over the past few years I mean to ensure we retain our identity as an entrepreneurial, results-focused business and having the right people at the helm is vital.”

“I intend to lead the integration of CoachHire.com with high-standard suppliers, forging long-standing partnerships that show the benefits we can provide each other and our customers by working together. Group transport has always been a complex industry, but as technology progresses the opportunity to simplify and improve performance by creating a centre of excellence is a challenge I couldn’t resist”, says Woods.
